Hong Kong: Lower Cost Residential

I promise this is something different!  You won’t see this in Hong Kong as a tourist.

My Hong Kong friend, Jessica whom I met in Perth 9 years ago while I was still studying in university, brought me around Hong Kong in an afternoon. It was our very first meeting after 8 years. And yes, we have not seen each other for that many years.

She didn’t want to show me the usual beautiful Hong Kong as what we’ve seen as tourists. In fact, she wanted me to experience the reality of living in such high expenses city. So we toured around, and by chance we stopped by the lower cost residential area in Kowloon.

Here, I gotta be realistic and experience myself the lifestyle of the lower class. Some of us seen these flats in typical Hong Kong movies or dramas. And I tell you, exactly it is. You don’t even have the luxury to have a lift to bring you up to the top floors. Jessica and I had to climb the staircase, one level to another until the 8th floor.

I truly loved the experience. Beyond words could describe of what I’ve seen.
